Conducting Gävle Symphony Orchestra

August 28th, 2011

Yesterday I conducted the wonderful Gävle Symphony Orchestra in a program that included composers like Korngold, Bernstein, Sondheim & Morricone. Music from film and theatre. Unique soprano, Myrra Malmberg, sang as butiful as ever!
Earlier this week I conducted and produced a Christmas album with the same orchestra together with swedish singer Jill Johnson. The album is exclusivly produced for Childhood Foundation.

Commisioned a piece for Anders Wall

March 21st, 2011

Tomorrow I will start to wright an orchestra piece to honor Anders Wall on his 80th anniversary. The piece will have it´s world premiere on a special concert later on this year. I imagine a worthy and joyous piece.

Philomene at the concert

March 20th, 2011

The host at the Big Bang Concert was the wonderful actress Philomene Grandin (Philofix from Bolibompa) who guided the children through the concert amazingly well. Here you can see her in her space suit from “Vid Vintergatans Slut” together with kids from Djurgårdsskolan. Let´s do it again!!!

World Premiere of “De Ondas Svit” from the TV-series “Vintergatan”

March 18th, 2011

I forgot to mention that I conducted the world premiere, at the Big Bang Consert, of my own piece “De Ondas Svit” which is a suit based on the “dark themes” from the TV-series “Vid Vintergatans Slut”(The end of the Milky Way) that I scored last year for Malmö Symphony Orchestra. “Vid Vintergatans Slut” has been one of the most popular TV-series for children in Sweden and it´s was actually the first time I conducted a piece that I had been written myself. It felt great and I hope I´d  get the chance to do it again soon. I keep my fingers crossed that I will be able to conduct the two orchestra piece that I just been commisioned to wright.

Conducting The Swedish Wind Ensemble

March 18th, 2011

Today I have completed a very successful series of concerts with The Swedish Wind Ensemble.  The concerts were titled “Big Bang” and the repertoire were inspired by planets and space in different ways. The main audiens were kids between 7-10 at it sure looked like they had a god time. We also had a couple of school classes that attended on stage singing and reading their own poems inspired of the above mentioned theme. During the concert we showed their great paintings on a big screen while we played Gustav Holt´s Mars and Jupiter. To offer the children some contemporay music we played Molly Keins 134340 Pluto and Thérèse Brenets 5523 Luminet 1991 PH8. Together with Star Wars Saga and the main theme from Star Trek we created a great blend of different music styles. The Concerts were held at Nybrokajen 11 in Stockholm. I love this orchestra and I hope I will be back soon for another production.

At rehearsals

March 10th, 2011

Next week I will conduct The Swedish Wind Ensemble in a series of conserts for children. Here I am in action at the last rehearsal in this very old concert hall called Nybrokajen 11. From April 1 this wonderful orchestra will move in here permanently and that was about time because they have been struggling for many years without  a “real” home.

World premiere – Shades of Green, Shades of Red

October 7th, 2010

Here am I together with Maestro Henrik Schaefer after the consert in Karlstad on Octorber 7, 2010.
It was a wonderful consert with my new piece “Shades of Green, Shades of Red”, plus music from Wagner’s “Tristan & Isolde” and Bruckner’s 5th symphony.

“Shades of Green, Shades of Red” is a comment on the 1986 pollution disaster in the Rhine River when the pollutants turned the river red. It is very sad to see history repeating itself in Hungary and the Donau at the same time my piece is being premiered.

Below you can see the text that I wrote about my piece for the consert programme. An english translation will be made soon!
